Exhibit of dreamscapes at library

Cara Spilsbury

TOPSFIELD -- The Topsfield Town Library's Meeting Room will take on a surreal and abstract feel for the month of June. The library is featuring lifelong Topsfield resident Meri Turcotte's paintings in an exhibition called "Dreamscapes."

"Dreamscapes" will transport librarygoers into the world of dreams and the depths of subconscious. Her work ranges from straight-forward and clear brush strokes to those that are fuzzy and unclear. Turcotte attended Montserrat College of Art in Beverly as well as the Maine College of Art in Portland. Through her studies, she was always drawn to abstract painting and figure drawing. Her time in Maine also introduced her to mysticism.

The Topsfield Town Library is open Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
