North Shore Community College President Wayne Burton has announced that more than 100 NSCC students were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa's International Honor Society at NSCC's Lynn Campus.
Phi Theta Kappa is a national honor society for students at two-year colleges who exhibit outstanding academic performance throughout each semester. To be invited for membership, students must be enrolled in a degree program with a minimum of 18 credits and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.7. NSCC is affiliated with the nationwide organization through its own chapter, Alpha Lambda Kappa.

North Andover students Brenna Bourie, Hilary Greene and Sarah MacDonald, all sophomores at Central Catholic High School, were inducted in to the National Honor Society on Tuesday, May 6.
Montserrat College of Art has announced the winners of the 6th Essex District Congressional High School Art Awards.
A reception was held to present the awards on Saturday, May 17, with Rep. John F. Tierney hosting the event.

Katherine M. Craig, of Boxford, presented the results of her original research at the Festival of Science at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.
Craig, a senior environmental studies and government major with minors in African studies and outdoor studes, gave a presentation titled, "Composting Proposal for St. Lawrence University." She is a graduate of Masconomet High School.
The annual Festival of Science provides a showcase for students to present the results of their research in the sciences.
