On June 17, a $10 raffle ticket could win you a Wii.
North Andover United, a citizens group that grew out of last year's campaign for a budget override, donated two Nintendo Wii video game systems to the North Andover Senior Center. One will be raffled in a drawing to raise money for the center's Capital Improvement Fund. The other Wii unit will remain at the senior center for local seniors to use once the renovations are complete.
The winning name will be drawn on June 17. The winner will receive one Wii box with standard games, two remotes, a battery charger and a memory disk. All proceeds from the raffle go to the senior center's Capital Improvement Fund.
Tickets are being sold for $10 each at various locations around town:
r In front of the North Andover post office on Main Street, Saturday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
r At the North Andover Senior Center, 120R Main St., in the mornings, Monday through Friday.
r At North Andover High School, Osgood Street, during school hours.
Fliers about the raffle will be available at North Andover Town Hall.
The Friends of the North Andover Senior Center are trying to raise $80,000 to expand the Wellness Center used for walk-in clinics and to redesign the lobby. They also want to help the flow so people can walk from one room to the other without interrupting classes.
