Sam is no odd girl out on the Little League field

It’s a three-two count, and Sam Martin is on the mound. Bases loaded, two outs, and the opposing batter is threatening the Cubs’ paper-thin one-run lead. Other 12-year-olds might find the pressure too much to bear. But this is what Sam lives for. Sam, or Samantha, is the only girl playing in the Middleton Little League’s five-team major league baseball division.
