Middleton teen to compete in cheerleading world championships
MIDDLETON — Elise Brady, 13, of Middleton is going to be participating this month in the U.S. All-Star Federation for cheerleading and dance team world championships at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.
Brady and her team, Celebrity Cheer out of Salem, N.H., will be the first junior team from New England to compete in the competition's junior international division.
Celebrity Cheer, coached by Cassie Bienvenue and Jeff Frankland, is one of the top all-star cheerleading programs in the nation accumulating multiple national titles.
To make it to Orlando, Elise’s Level 5 Large Junior team, with cheerleaders under age 14, took top honors at the Cheersport National Championship at the U.S. Olympic Arena in Atlanta. Teams from more than 37 states and Canada competed in this event featuring professionally choreographed dance routines with elite tumbling and stunts.
The World Champions will take place over two days in Orlando with more than 90 teams from all over the world competing. The competition will be simulcast live on the Internet and be nationally televised April 28 on the ESPN2 network.
