Flint Library vacation programs
The Flint Library offers the following programs for children during April vacation:
r "Movin' to the Beat" | Tuesday, April 17, 1 to 2 p.m., at the Middleton Congregational Church on Route 62. Georgia Bills will lead the interactive movement class for children ages 5 and up. Music games, party songs and ring games from different parts of the world will be played.
r The Penguin Lady | Wednesday, April 18, at 11 a.m., at Flint Public Library, 4 Lookout Lane. Penguin expert Dyan deNapoli will offer facts and trivia about penguins. An interactive program for children of all ages.

Spring concert in Topsfield
A Concert For Spring, an evening of music with classical, Celtic, jazz and sacred songs will take place Sunday, April 29, at 7 p.m., at the Meeting House of the Congregational Church of Topsfield, located on Topsfield Commons. The performance will feature soloist Helen Hammond and the Trillium, an instrumental trio. Proceed benefit the Aspire Organ Fund of the Congregational Church of Topsfield. The church is raising funds to renovate and install a historic pipe organ. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for children and students with ID. Recreation Committee jobs
The Topsfield Recreation Committee is looking to hire counselors and program managers for the upcoming Celebrate Summer Camp. All interested and qualified applicants can obtain information and job application by visiting the committee's Web site at www.topsfieldrecreation.org.
Samaritans' volunteer training
The Samaritans of Merrimack Valley rely on volunteers who, through the goodness of their hearts, reach out to help those in crisis. People from all walks of life are trained by Samaritans to offer support and caring for those who are lonely, despairing or suicidal.
The next training will be on Saturday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Slideshow on Nepal culture
"The People, Culture and Mountains of Nepal," a slide presentation delivered by Umesh Bhuju, will take place Friday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Gould Barn, Howlett Street, Topsfield. Bhuju is the owner of Zumi's Espresso and Ice Cream in Ipswich and a former mountain guide of Nepal's Himalayas. The event is hosted by the Topsfield Historical Society and is open to the public.
