Weather can't dampen plant sale

Despite cool and wet weather, the Friends of Groveland Council on Aging's annual plant sale on Saturday, May 19, was a success, raising funds for programs and services for Groveland elders. The Friends would like to thank all those who gave plants from their gardens, who donated prizes and, in particular, those who helped out at the sale. Thanks also go to the members of the Groveland Fire Department who helped to move both the fire equipment and the tables before and after the sale.

The names of raffle prize winners were drawn with the help of Conor O'Neil, 5, of West Newbury.

Here is the list of winners:

Hanging basket of petunias | Thurston Collins of Haverhill

Mug set with coasters | Cindy Taplin of Groveland

Embroidered pillow set | Margery Fairbanks of Groveland

Lap desk tray | Kathy Joyce of Groveland

Large phylo plant and pot | Althea Rogoz of Groveland

A number of perennials are still available, and may be viewed for purchase at 3 Pleasant St. Call John or Valerie Osborne to make arrangements to see the plants at 978-374-6253.
