Pancake breakfast June 9

First Congregational Church, Andover Street, will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday, June 9, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Adults, $5; children under 5, free. Proceeds benefit the James H. Boynton Scholarship Fund.

Old-fashioned baseball June 23

The Ironsides baseball team of New Bedford will play the Lynn Live Oaks at the Perley Field on North Street on Saturday, June 23, at 1 p.m. The game will be played according to 1861 rules and will be a doubleheader. For the second game, the spectators (also known as "cranks") can join in. Free to all. The Historical Society will pass the hat during the game for donations. For information, call 978-352-8526. The Essex Base Ball Organization, consisting of three teams, plays by the rules and customs of 19th-century baseball, puts on exhibitions, and offers education and entertainment. House tours needs you

The Georgetown Historical Society will sponsor a house tour in 2008 and is looking for interested people to join the committee.
